Dr. Paul Vixie

One of the creators of the modern Internet, the developer and author of modern Internet protocols and systems on which the network operates today.

Paul Vixie, one of the founders of the modern Internet, holds a PhD in computer science. He has had a significant influence on the development of Internet protocols and systems, including DNS. He was involved in the creation of the first successful commercial anti-spam service and the development of standard UNIX system programs such as SENDS, proxynet, rtty, and Vixie cron.

Paul Vixie also founded the Internet Software Consortium (ISC) to support BIND and other software. In 2005-2013, he served on the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) Board, and was its Chairman in 2009-2010. His contributions to Internet security have been recognized by his membership in the ICANN Security and Stability Advisory Committee. Vixie is also inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame for his achievements and contributions to the Internet and open source software.
