Jovan Kurbalija is a representative of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation, the author of the “Internet Governance” book, the Executive Director of the DiploFoundation and the Head of the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP).

He was previously a member of the UN Working Group on Internet Governance (2004-2005). In 2006-2010, he served as a Special Advisor to the Chairman of the UN Internet Governance Forum. Later, in 2013-2014, he was a member of the High-Level Multistakeholder Committee NETmundial.

Kurbalija has a background in international law, diplomacy and information technology. He is the author of books, articles and courses on cyber diplomacy and internet governance. His book “Internet Governance” has been translated into 9 languages and is widely used in educational institutions around the world. Jovan Kurbalija lectures and conducts courses on digital diplomacy and internet governance in various educational institutions and training centers.
