On April 7, 2020, Moscow will host the 11th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2020) organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ. The Technical Center of Internet is the forum’s general partner, and Kaspersky Lab is the cybersecurity partner. RIPE NCC will sponsor the event. Registration is now open.
The RIGF 2020 program is in development, but the forum will focus on up-to-date approaches to the development of cyberspace norms and the role of key stakeholders in their implementation. The relevance of the international internet governance agenda for the BRICS member countries is expected to be discussed at the expert panel after the plenary session and a break.
The session meetings will be dedicated to artificial intelligence, cultural and linguistic diversity on the internet, jobs of the future and cybersecurity. Speakers and participants will discuss approaches to creating and implementing strategies for developing artificial intelligence in various countries and the role key stakeholders can play to that end, as well as problems related to preserving and promoting local communities’ cultural and language identity in the digital space. Particular attention will go to the 10th anniversary of the Russian Cyrillic ccTLD, .РФ, and the efforts of the Russian internet community to introduce internationalized domains and their universal use.
The Future Competences session will be dedicated to the professional skills and knowledge needed to stay competitive on the labor market in the future. Participants in the Cybersecurity session will discuss how new technology influences the key elements of information security, interoperability and internet stability.
And, of course, RIGF 2020 will also include the Virtuti Interneti award ceremony, as well as a lecture from its winner, who will be named at the forum this time.
Participation in RIGF 2020 is free, but preliminary registration is required.
