Shoitov Alexander

Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation

Born on January 4, 1971, in Moscow.

1987 – 1988: Worked as laboratory assistant at the Baikov Institute of Metallurgy of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

1993: Graduated from the Institute of Cryptography of Communications and Informatics of the FSS Academy of the Russian Federation. Awarded the Mathematical Engineer qualification in the Applied Mathematics.

1993-2021: Military service.

Since 2017: President of the Academy of Cryptography of the Russian Federation.

Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics.

Military rank: Lieutenant General.

Awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II class.

On April 12, 2021, by order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 948-r, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.

Authority

Mr. Shoitov is responsible for forming state policy and implementing the ministry’s functions in the field of cybersecurity, creating and implementing computer and telecommunications equipment, as well as software with a sufficient level of cybersecurity that considers the innovative development of the industry.

He also oversees the Information Security federal project of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation national program.
