Yaroslav Meshalkin
Founder of the Center for Gaming and Esports Communications
Yaroslav Meshalkin is a communications strategist and architect of the perception shift around gaming and esports in Russia — transforming the space from a fringe subculture into a state-endorsed industry featured on Channel One and discussed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). In 2026, he founded the Gaming and Esports Communications Center, which helps businesses and government entities engage authentically with gamers while elevating gaming projects to the federal level.
With 18 years of experience in B2B and B2C communications focused on media and entertainment, Meshalkin is a member of the Russian Union of Journalists and serves on the State Examination Board of the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
He founded and chaired the "Gaming Industry and Esports" business cluster at the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) from 2020 to 2023. He has served as a digital sports technology expert for the advisory council to the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sport and participated in the working group "Development of Computer Sports in the Russian Federation" (2017–2022).
Meshalkin sits on expert councils and juries for leading industry awards including BLOGEMA, ABA, Silver Archer, LOUD, and Press Service of the Year. He contributed to developing the professional PR standard for the Russian Public Relations Association (2014–2016).
His work has been recognized with international accolades including the IPRA Golden World Award for Excellence in Public Relations and the IABC Gold Quill Award for Excellence. He has also received commendations from the Russian Ministry of Finance, the State Duma, RAEC, and the Russian Esports Federation.
