Since March 2024, Eduard Shantayev has been the Director General of the Federal Center of Artificial Intelligence. This organization was established to support Russian-made IT solutions, increase the accessibility of digital infrastructure and implement applied solutions based on artificial intelligence in industrial production. Under his management, the center promotes digital transformation in the industrial sector and facilitates the export of Russian high-tech solutions.

Between 2019 and 2024, Eduard Shantayev was Adviser and Director of Digital Infrastructure at the Department of Digital Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. He was in charge of projects focused on developing digital tools for the industrial sector, including the State Industrial Database.
