Tatyana Matveeva
Head, Russian Presidential Directorate for the Development of Information and Communication Technology and Communications Infrastructure
Ms. Matveyeva has taken an active part in the development and adoption of the Strategy for the Development of the Communications Industry in the Russian Federation until 2035, aimed at harmonizing the regulation of the communications sector, taking into account the interests of the public, society and the state, as well as the new edition of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence as regards creating, on the one hand, optimal conditions for AI developers in Russia, and on the other, protecting the rights of individuals and respecting the interests of the state in online use.
Ms. Matveyeva supports socially significant initiatives in the IT sector, including the creation of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment, where Russia’s largest IT companies and media holdings have committed themselves to protecting children and youth in the virtual space.
In 2023, a law developed with Ms. Matveyeva’s participation was adopted to regulate the use of recommendation technologies, as well as a law banning the use of foreign user identification systems on Russian websites.
