Vladimir Todorov

Director of Media Development at Rambler&Co, Editor-in-Chief of Lenta.ru

Vladimir Todorov graduated from the Department of Oriental Studies at the Higher School of Economics in 2016, with a degree in International Relations, specializing in China. He also completed an advanced international course on the history and culture of China at Shanghai University.

He began his career in 2012 as a stringer for Gazeta.ru, covering science, business and finance news. In 2014, he became a staff correspondent for business and finance news, reporting on the metal production industry, the internet, media and telecom sectors. In 2015, he was appointed Head of the Department of Technology News at Gazeta.ru.

In 2016, Vladimir Todorov was appointed Director of the Department of Internet and Media at Lenta.ru. He conducted a series of journalist investigations into death communities on VK, leading to the arrest of Filipp Budeikin (aka Filipp Lis), a co-founder of suicide communities. In 2017, Vladimir Todorov initiated, created and produced a special investigation, Very Dark Matters, on drug trafficking in Russia’s Darknet. This investigation resulted in the shutdown of RAMP, Russia’s largest Darknet drug trafficking platform.

Since August 2017, Vladimir Todorov has been the Editor-in-Chief of Lenta.ru. In 2019, he was appointed Director for Media Development at Rambler&Co, responsible for the strategic development of the largest federal media outlets, including Lenta.ru, Gazeta.ru, Sekret Firmy, and others. In April 2024, he was also appointed Documentary Content Producer at Okko.

Vladimir Todorov is a Runet Award nominee and ranked among the top five development directors in the Media Business category of the annual Top 1000 of Russian Managers.
