Valery Komarov is head of the Awareness Department of the Information Security Directorate and information security specialist in the Moscow Department of Information Technologies (DIT). He is responsible for methodological support and raising awareness of DIT employees as regards ensuring the security of critical information infrastructure facilities (CII) and the protection of information in government information systems (GIS) and personal data information systems (PDIS) in Moscow. Mr. Komarov takes part in internal investigations of information security breaches and information security audits. Before joining DIT, he worked on information security issues at the Rosenergoatom Concern and the Rostec State Corporation. Member of the TC 167 technical committee for standardization, “Hardware and software systems for critical information infrastructure and related software.” Member of the Personal Data Working Group under the Roskomnadzor Directorate for the Central Federal District. Member of the Russian Privacy Professionals Association. Member of the cybersecurity expert group of the Digital Energy Association.

Mr. Komarov was distinguished with a Letter of Gratitude from the Moscow Mayor in 2018 and a Letter of Gratitude from the Moscow Mayor in 2021. He was also awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Moscow Department of Information Technologies for his contribution to the development and promotion of information technologies, communications and digital development of Moscow in 2023.
