Institute for Digital Economy & Artificial Systems, BRICS PartNIR

Prof. Yu Xiao, Board Director & Executive Secretary-general of the Institute for Digital Economy & Artificial Systems (IDEAS, 2021-), which is jointly built by key universities from BRICS countries under the framework of the BRICS Partnership of New Industrial Revolution, which is committed to creating more equal and inclusive digital cooperation opportunities among emerging countries; At the same time, he is the Founder & Director of the Sichuan Digital Development Research Center (SDDRC, 2023-) under Sichuan Administration Institute, which is committed to providing digital inclusive decision-making consulting solutions in the fields of digital transformation of traditional industries, rural revitalization and urban governance in the west of China. He hopes to explore a feasible path to bridge the digital gap and achieve digital inclusion both in the global & local digitalization process through the above efforts.

He obtained a Ph.D. from Tsinghua University (2017-2021), a master's degree from the Chinese National Academy of Arts (2014-2017), and two bachelor's degrees from Renmin University of China (2008-2012). He is a post-doctor of The State Information Center of China (2023-), a visiting scholar of the University of Hongkong (2019), Moscow State University (2020), & Sciences Po Paris (2021), and adjunct researcher at the Institute for BRI Studies (2018-) and Research Center of Technological Innovation (2023-) in Tsinghua University. His research interests include the Digital Government and Digital Economy. His publications include 20+ papers in top English, Chinese, and Russian journals such as E-government, Knowledge-Based System, Nuerocomputing, Urban Planning, AI & Ethics, and IEEE Access. He has authored several books published.
