The organizing committee of the Russian Internet Governance Forum 2021 has decided to continue gathering discussion topics for the forum until January 31. Last December, internet users sent in over 50 suggestions for RIGF 2021, and many of them will be included in the program.
The Regulation section drew the most interest. Participants suggest discussing formats and examples of successful and unsuccessful interaction between the internet industry and state; the global experience in regulating the digital platform ecosystem and its possible application in Russia; the balance between ensuring cybersecurity and complying with human rights; and ways to update the system to develop and manage the critical infrastructure and DNS, among many other things.
Numerous discussion topics were proposed in other categories, including the possibility of registering a domain name forever; cyberpolice and its place in ensuring the security of the state and society; regulation of collecting and processing personal data and protecting it from leaks; teaching digital literacy and personal safety on the internet; and artificial intelligence and machine learning systems in managing modern telecommunications networks.
Ideas and proposals can be sent at using a special form, until January 31, 2021.
The 11th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2021) organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ will be held online on April 7-9, 2021. Everyone who has thoughts to share on internet development can take part in forming the RIGF 2021 program. The final program will be drawn up after examining all the suggested topics and considering the global trends announced at the global IGF.
